Specimens of unusual medical deformities are difficult to obtain
as patients are often reluctant to donate their bodies to science
and when they do they have often been operated on disturbing the
anatomy of interest. BioModelling allows multiple copies of the
deformity to be replicated and distributed. BioModels are ideal
for teaching and demonstrating operations. The student surgeon or
radiologist may practice a procedure by cutting up the BioModel
and reconstructing to learn techniques without risk to patients.
BioModels can also be similarly used to examine a training surgeon's
knowledge.
This potential for anatomical and pathological demonstration is
large and it is likely that BioModelling will be integrated into
routine educational practices in a broad range of disciplines. To
this end, Anatomics now offers the BioModelling Teaching Pack for
Surgery. Contact us now to learn how Anatomics can provide you with
a range of interesting BioModels for teaching purposes from our
vast digital archive of pathological scans. Exact contents of a
Teaching Pack is determined by you after specifying your desired
surgical specialty, viewing our list of available BioModels, and
selecting the pricing option best for your needs.
